A: Due to very rapid inventory turnover, we may be sold out of an item before any samples arrive. Therefore we do not send out samples.

Q: What if I don't like what I receive?
A: call within 5 days of receipt for a return authorization for any item you are unhappy with.

REGARDING NEW STORE OPENINGS:

Q: I am new to business can you help me get started?

For years, we've supplied store opening services with their inventory needs. Here's what we offer: The very best competitive prices to all accounts, large & small. A tremendous assortement of basic and styled merchandise Specials, Fax promos, E-mails bulletins on off-price merchandise Fast in season delivery, 3-5 working days.

REGARDING MERCHANDISE SELECTION:

Q: What is a closeout?
A: When a manufacturer produces too much of an item and doesn't sell all of it, or doesn't deliver product on time, they are forced to sell it at a greatly reduced price to make room for their new styles. These bargains are referred to as closeouts. Closeouts have become the lifeblood of the current consumer driven economy.

Q: How do I find out about new product?
A: We receive new merchandise in our warehouse on a daily basis, and within 24 hours it's on our web site. Bookmark or add our site to your personal favorites, Also sign up for our E-mail notification program and we will automatically send new information right to your mailbox. You can also contact our order department at 212-239-6563 for the latest information on all new items.

Q: Why do some brand labels have a line marked through them? Are they irregular?
A: Gary Steiner Sales Inc does not offer irregular merchandise unless it is clearly marked as such in our description. The red or black line that sometimes appears on certain labels is the manufacturers way of designating the item as a closeout. It also is intended to prevent a retail customer from returning the item for full retail price to the store where it was originally sold. It should not be assumed that the item is irregular unless it is clearly indicated in our description.

Q: What is a "cut label garment"?
A: Manufacturers that make private label garments for very public, very high profile brands are sometimes required to remove the brand label entirely before selling the garment to us. A second label with size and washing instructions will always remain on the garment. These items are clearly identified as "cut label" on our web site and are always first quality unless noted. Cut label is a merchandising staple for many off price retailers.

Q: I have a small store. Do I have to order items in the 12pc, 24pc or36pc packs as listed or may I order smaller quantities?
A: Selling in prepack keeps our warehouse clean of odds & ends and allows us to turn product quicker which, in turn, enables us to provide more selection to our customers. Selling less than a prepack doesn't provide our customer with enough selection and lowers our efficiency. On occasion we can break a prepack for a price surchage but most customers prefer the lowest possible cost.

Q: Why does Gary Steiner Sales Inc sell merchandise only in pre-pack assortments? I'd rather pick my own colors and sizes.
A: We sell in pre-packs in order to provide the retailer with the highest level of consistency in our product. Our goal is to enable you to 'waterfall' consistent colors and sizes wherever possible, and to have the first pack of a particular item look the same as the last pack. Picking your own preference of colors and sizes is what manufacturers allow you to do, but of course they'll charge you 60 - 80% more per item.
ABOUT SHIPPING:

Q: What does FOB mean?
A: F.O.B. is the location where a shipment originates. All merchandise from Gary Steiner Sales Inc is F.O.B. Martinsville, VA and freight charges are the responsibility of you the customer.

REGARDING SHIPPING

Q: How soon will my order be shipped?
A: If you're a new account requesting COD cashiers check, your order should ship within 2-3 business days from the time you placed it. Then, depending on your location, UPS/Fedex Ground can take an additional 1 to 5 business days to deliver. (Please note that UPS/Fedex will not accept cash.) If you are a new account requesting terms that require credit checks and follow-up, the shipping time can vary from 2 to 10 days depending on how your references respond to our Factors inquiries. If you are an established Gary Steiner Sales Inc account and shipping under your existing terms, your order should ship within 2-3 business days. If you are prepaying your order, please send certified funds, money order or cashiers check and your order will ship within 2-3 business days. Prepayment by any other means may delay your order up to 10 business days.

Q: What is a factor and why should I respond to their letters?
A: A factor is a 3rd party, usually a bank or other financial instituition that purchases accounts receivable and is responsible for collecting payments from customers. Factors are responsible for granting customers credit lines.

Q: I was out of my store and I think UPS/Fedex Ground might have returned my order to you. Will you re-ship the order?
A: UPS/Fedex drivers are required to make 3 delivery attempts, known as 3 strikes and you're out. If you are not in on three attempts or do not try to pick-up a 'will call' shipment within 7 days they will return the shipment to us. In this case we would require full payment in advance before reshipping the product to your store and you may be required to prepay or leave a deposit on any future orders.

REGARDING RETURNS:

Q: What happens if the merchandise I order doesn't sell? Can I return it?
A: We leave merchandising decisions up to you. It isn't possible for us to make guarantees to our customers as to what will and won't sell. If an item doesn't perform at all within a couple of weeks, we recommend a quick markdown and go on to the next item. Remember, your first markdown is your best markdown.

Q: What do I do when something comes in damaged?
A: We stand behind the merchandise we sell as 1st Quality unless noted as irregular in the description. In the event there is a problem with an item, just email at gary@garysteiner.com or call our office at 212-239-6563 within 5 days of receipt, give us the details of your situation, the invoice and order number and one of our customer representatives will contact you shortly.

REGARDING CREDIT:

Q: I don't want to pay with a COD. How long does it take to apply for credit terms?
A: We are factored, and rely on our Factor, CIT OR Capital factors for all credit approvals. If you have a sound Dun & Bradstreet credit report, a favorable financial statement, and reliable Factor references, our Factor can establish an account for you in about 1 week. If information is incomplete or your bank references do not respond promptly, the process can be severely delayed. We do recommend that first orders are shipped COD Certified Check for the fastest service.
